For 3 years, I work for Santé as a Hypnotherapist and an NLP practitioner and also in the International Zone, as the secretary of the IZCT.

What are your areas of interest in Auroville, and in what areas have you already worked in?
I am trained as an ecologist w/ experience in program/project development/management and sustainability. I believe for any effort to be sustainable it needs to be environment friendly, culturally conducive, and socially acceptable.

In Auroville, I have worked on various issues/levels: I have revived a (restoration) project that was deemed unsuccessful to being considered as one of the best projects in the cohort. I have co-coordinated and managed one of the most intensively used public spaces, curated programs and events >12 yrs, and still managed its operations/ finances in the spirit of service/offering. Climate change adaptation / progressing towards zero-waste living both needs a set of skills and knowledge. Understanding that I have published a book on edible wilds (weeds), offer that skill to people in the people in the community, offer workshops towards zero-waste lifestyle to encourage reduction of waste – all for free in the spirit of service. I also intermittently teach at the Botanical Gardens. How the working groups operated and how finance in Auroville is managed – I have learnt by working for the BCC (as Administrative assistant to the coordinator/secretary for the group -i.e. as a non-voting member) for 7yrs. I am ready to offer my overall skills and experience for this work.

Please mention one or two key changes that you would like to see in the community
I would like to see more open discussion, exchange of ideas between the FAMC and the community, and closely monitored experiments – to bring about more service-oriented /in-kind economy within Auroville.
