It is a difficult topic; how to "evaluate' if someone is ready or not to join Auroville as Mother can see much than we can...If only we were able to see differently...I think i would like to see a better balance in between the material requirements and a true Aspiration.

What skills can you offer, if you are selected in the new Entry Board? How can you best contribute and be in service?
As i was already working in the Entry Service before the Entry Board was put into place; i know quite well the work that the Entry Board is doing. I think that my experience and my youth could, perhaps, bring a different energy to the group and i could be a good link with others at the ES as i all know them and their work.

What are your aspiration and vision for this work?
I would like that the Entry Board exposes more the Newcomers to the reasons why Auroville is and Mother and Sri Aurobindo's vision of the future.

To welcome new applicants with an Aurovilian spirit with positive energy and guide them through their process and integrate into our Auroviie Community. To treat any candidate as a applicant and evaluate their intention to join Auroville with truer aspiration. I start with half time may change into full time.

I have been working in administration and accounts in Auroville service organization for past 35 Years. I felt to change and get different experiences and gain knowledge for my inner growth and development. As am already in present Entry Board I see big changes within me and felt I was in a bubble for all these years for which I regret so much. Its learning and enriching experiences which am going through with present Entry Board. I thank and grateful to the community for giving me this opportunity.

Clear and Proper guidance be given from the beginning to newcomers as defined in the Entry policy.

Developing a welcoming service for volunteers and students (Savi); administration and serving the Auroville Human Resources Needs (as opportunities of collaboration); now I am involved with some other people in creating a similar space and service for external Researchers.

Now involved in admin work with LEAD, an umbrella unit for ALA Auroville Learning Activities; that's why I am not candidate for Entry Board, but only participating in the Selection process.

More fraternity and good will towards newcomers from community members. Accepting their enthusiasm and fresh ideas for ageing Auroville to be rejuvenated by this new blood.

Warm welcome, respect, openness and flexibility

I would like more community participation in the Entry process, more Aurovilians taking responsibilities and being available as mentors. More support for young people who are joining the community, for example, availability of affordable housing solution for youth. I would like that the Entry team pays more attention to the spiritual side and karma yoga than housing.

The Entry Board being the gatekeeper of Auroville's present and future population has the potential to tap into all the available Aurovilians as resource persons, in order to establish a pan-Auroville welcoming board.

This group is probably THE most important groups in Auroville, since the desk of the EB in Town Hall is often the first real connection that an aspiring Newcomer has with Auroville. First impression = lasting impression.

To be able to provide a friendly, supportive, welcoming and inspiring first impression of Auroville is the key change that I would like to see in the way this community welcomes newcomers. Another key change I'd like to see is a widening of the age group that is involved in this work, especially since many aspiring Newcomers are young people! Having young and especially well-informed, balanced, and joyful people at the welcoming desk for example would make the world of difference.

Also, since Auroville and its challenges and wonders are experienced differently depending on one's background and approach to life, a varied and healthy mix of people is needed, to truly capture and relate to the wide range of aspiring newcomers.

More quality than quantity.

What skills can you offer, if you are selected in the new Entry Board? How can you best contribute and be in service?
During some years in the accommodation service and in the guest service , I develop my discernement to understand the deep reasons of an applicant for to be Aurovilian, my skill is to act with Insight what I must to do, in one word; in full consciousness, since two years and a half I have been mentor of 12 mentees, I like to be with them constantly as a friend to help them at the beginning and during their whole procedure, to support them if they are involved or also to push them to be more conscious about our goal. so now I would like to put my experience as mentor at the service of the Entry Board.

What are your aspiration and vision for this work?
I met so many time my 12 mentees, I follow them during more than 2 years, I think to know what they feel, and I would like now to be more near of the admissions of them and also to be available inside the Entry Board to help the present and future Mentors in their task, I know that some Aurovilians are a little bit afraid to start this task ... and I feel to be ready for to be a part of the EB ..... 🙂

I am interested in secretary level, arrange meetings, i can go to places to check the where the newcomers are staying address and report to our group members.

1. The Newcomer period should be short and feedback should be extended according the numbers, for example for single person should short time and for couple should be medium and for families should be longer.

My main job is as webmaster (content manager) of the Auroville.org website, also taking care of social network pages and groups, related to Auroville and to Sri Aurobindo. Documenting in video and photo the various activities that take place in Auroville, as documentation for people outside with a sincere interest in our development in all fields

As I said, I think that some solution is to be studied for young sincere potential Aurovilians with not enough financial means, and for Aspirants from the villages included in the Greenbelt.

I was involved in the Entry Task Group which created the previous Entry Policy which was then changed with the current policy which has been under review after its one year trial. I have worked in Matrimandir Gardens, now work in Botanical Gardens, have been involved in most community meetings and the Retreat concerning Organization and Governance, along with many other areas of interest... I have been a mentor since the beginning of the Mentor system.

Less judgment and more flexibility, but especially less rigidity regarding the process and the difficulties created for Newcomers by silly bureaucratic rules that don't help Newcomers easily assimilate into the community - financially, spiritually, and otherwise.

What are your aspiration and vision for this work?
I read Sri mother book about Auroville vision. I followed the Philosophy of Auroville. and I will do my work with the group it helps me to grow another level.

I worked as a teacher in different Auroville schools right now I am working as a receptionist in the visitor centre if I get this opportunity I will readily do this job. I am interested in the interview with people because I am working in the visitor centre every day I am meet more than 1000 people.

There is no particular one, I have a huge wing to fly around and to see hear and sing to work and serve Auroville at any fields and domains. Have been serving in EB since found till the next selection process. I will discontinue due to some other commitments. Can communicate in six languages, no shyness or fear for social integration and action. My interest is to join L'avenir as it is my strength in architecture, town planning and designing.

Interviews: shouldn't be held according to human social idiotic understanding and categorizing like exams or competitions. All to be weighed pulled played contributed shared the same air in and out. but the breath that comes out should also be the same in the end for all mankind.

Proper clear transparent: Papers, procedures, guidelines to be delivered for all and same. though different beings have different issues and way of living and life to be given the light and the right path to Auroville.

Group decision: No majority-minority or this quorum and thingamese. The basic or complete law or rules and regulations or the guidelines and the policies and the way of life and being are been told and written by the founders. We are only the basic tool for them and let's be present and hear the deep voice within the body, who talk the truth and act according.

Processing the Feedback: Mostly not easy to handle, but at the same time easy to solve, with no hurt or pain. But they deny falling for the truth, because of the devil's advocate.

Welcoming NCs: That happens and done by the members/people of entry service so they have been kept on rolling and never the same person for a too long time period, due to the accumulation of past, old stories, family issues etc to throw on the new person coming to the entry door of Auroville. Otherwise, it becomes like a bank, hospital, police station or any of those Govt. office.

What are your aspiration and vision for this work?
To be an instrument in the hands of the intangible energy that is behind everything in Auroville.
